KB Medical Secures Major Chile Government Tender for Sterile Syringes and Needles_Supporting Global Healthcare Procurement with Quality, Compliance and Traceability
September 2026
KB Medical Group (KBMED) has secured a major government tender in Chile for sterile single-use syringes and hypodermic needles, marking another important step in the company’s continued expansion across Latin America.
As the project moves through sample evaluation and implementation, KBMED is supporting the program with not only qualified medical devices, but also the regulatory documentation, batch traceability and international logistics required for complex healthcare procurement.

Chile’s Updated Requirements for Syringes and Needles
In Chile, medical devices are regulated under the Ministry of Health (MINSAL), with the Instituto de Salud Pública de Chile (ISP) playing a central role in regulatory control.
Under Decreto Exento Nº 47/2025, Chile classifies the following products as Class II medical devices:
The decree updates the applicable technical standards to:
NCh2503:2021 — Sterile single-use hypodermic needlesNCh2504/1:2021 — Sterile single-use hypodermic syringes for manual use
Published on October 9, 2025, the decree is scheduled to take effect on October 9, 2026, replacing Decreto Exento Nº 1887/2007 for these products.
For manufacturers, importers and distributors, this makes 2026 an important transition year for syringe and needle compliance in Chile.
More Than a Compliant Product
International medical device tenders require more than product quality and competitive pricing.
For KBMED’s current Chile project, sample and shipment documentation is coordinated with the local importing party and may include:
Commercial Invoice • Packing List • Certificate of Origin • COA • Sterility Documentation • ISO 13485 Certificate • Lot Number • Manufacturing & Expiration Dates • Product Classification • Intended Use
These project-specific requirements help maintain a clear traceability chain:
Product Code → Lot Number → Manufacturing Date → Expiration Date → COA → Sterility Documentation
This consistency is especially important for sterile medical devices during customs clearance, tender evaluation, receiving inspection and quality review.
From Manufacturing to Global Project Execution
KBMED believes successful international medical device supply depends on the ability to deliver:
The right product. The right production lot.The right documentation. The right market. At the right time.
